Subject Introduction
苏州科技大学环境科学与工程一级学科源自1983年国家环保总局投资建设的环境工程专业，2003年获准环境工程二级学科硕士点，2011年获准环境科学与工程一级学科硕士点，已培养硕士研究生725人。2024年获批环境科学与工程一级学科博士点。环境科学与工程学科入选江苏省“十二五”江苏省重点学科及江苏高校优势学科一、二、三、四期建设项目。
环境科学与工程学科现有专任教师113人，其中教授27人，副教授43人，博士82人，拥有“杰青”、国家“万人计划”领军人才、教育部教学指导委员会委员等在国内有知名度和影响力的学术带头人；近60%有海外工作或学习经历，近85%具有博士学位。拥有“城市生活污水资源化利用技术国家地方联合工程实验室”、“江苏省环境科学与工程重点实验室”、“江苏省环境功能材料重点实验室”、“水处理技术与材料协同创新中心”、“江苏省分离净化材料与技术工程研究中心”等科研平台。近五年承担科技部重大科技（水）专项课题、国家杰出青年基金项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目等国家级项目60多项，获国家和省部级奖近20项，环境/生态学跻身ESI全球前1%。积极将经济发展和环境保护协同推进的成功经验推广至“一带一路”沿线和发展中国家，自1993年以来，受国家商务部委托，累计培训环境保护领域专业技术人才2000余名，国际硕士研究生200多名。365体育投注

The first-level discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering at Suzhou University of Science and Technology originated from the Environmental Engineering program, which was established in 1983 with funding from the former State Environmental Protection Administration. In 2003, the university was approved to offer a master's program in the sub-discipline of Environmental Engineering, and in 2011, it was authorized to confer master's degrees in the first-level discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering. To date, it has trained 725 master's graduates. In 2024, the university was approved to offer a doctoral program in the first-level discipline of Environmental Science and Engineering.The discipline has been selected as a Key Discipline of Jiangsu Province during the 12th Five-Year Plan and included in the Jiangsu Higher Education Superior Discipline Program (Phases I–IV).
The Environmental Science and Engineering discipline currently has 113 full-time faculty members, including 27 professors, 43 associate professors, and 82 PhD holders. Among them are renowned academic leaders with national influence, including recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National “Ten Thousand Talents Program” Leading Talents, and members of the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Steering Committee. Nearly 60% have overseas work or study experience, and 85% hold doctoral degrees.
The discipline boasts several key research platforms, such as:

Over the past five years, the discipline has undertaken more than 60 national-level research projects, including major national water science and technology projects, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars grants, and key projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has received nearly 20 national and provincial/ministerial awards, and its Environment/Ecology discipline ranks in the top 1% globally by ESI.
Since 1993, commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce, the discipline has actively promoted China’s successful experience in balancing economic development and environmental protection to Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries and other developing nations, training over 2,000 environmental professionals and more than 200 international master’s students. The school has a well-established teaching and research system and advanced analytical testing platforms, providing first-class research and training conditions for doctoral candidates.

三、申请资格
1. 非中国国籍人士，持有效外国护照。
2. 已获得硕士学位，有相关专业背景。
3. 年龄不超过40岁（1985年9月1日后出生）。
4. 身体和心理健康状况符合国家和我校规定的体检标准，无中国法律法规禁止入境的疾病。
5. 遵纪守法，品行端正，无违法违纪或学术不端等不良记录。
6. 两名所报考学科专业领域内的副教授以上（或相当专业技术职务的专家）书面推荐书。
7. 具有较强的语言能力，提供证明英语水平的材料。
8. 硕士阶段GPA≥3.0/4.0（或同等标准）
9. 研究计划审核（由拟申请导师及学科委员会评估：研究问题是否具有创新性、可行性及学科相关性；研究方法是否科学合理，是否具备必要的技术或理论基础。）
10. 在本人所从事的学科或专门技术上取得了优异成绩，在国内外核心刊物或重要学术会议上发表过一定数量的研究论文或作为主要完成人获得过国家级、省部级科技成果奖励；具有独立从事科学研究工作的能力，已作出有创新性的成果。
注：申请人原来为中国公民，后取得外国国籍者，按照国家相关规定审核
三. Application Qualification
1. Non-Chinese citizen, with foreign passport;
2. Already acquired Master’s Degree of relevant majors;
3. Under the age of 40 (birthday after sept 1st,1985);
4. Physical and mental health conditions meet the national and university’s stipulated medical examination standards, with no diseases prohibited by Chinese laws and regulations for entry.
5. Compliance with laws and regulations, good moral character, and no record of illegal or disciplinary violations or academic misconduct.
6. Two written recommendation letters from associate professors or above (or experts with equivalent professional and technical positions) in the applied subject field.
7. Strong language proficiency, with providing materials to prove English proficiency.
8. A master’s degree GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent standard).
9. Research proposal review (evaluated by the potential supervisor and the academic committee): whether the research question demonstrates innovation, feasibility, and relevance to the discipline; whether the research methodology is scientifically sound and supported by necessary technical or theoretical foundations.
10. In the discipline or specialized field of study, the applicant has achieved outstanding results, having published a certain number of research papers in core domestic or international journals or at major academic conferences, or having received national or provincial/ministerial-level scientific and technological achievement awards as a principal contributor.
The applicant possesses the ability to conduct independent scientific research and has produced innovative results.
Note: Applicants who are former Chinese citizens and have acquired a foreign nationality should be subject to relevant national regulations.
四、材料提交
申请人于2025年7月3日前提交材料，在国内的申请者将纸质版申请材料交至365体育投注(亚洲)官方网站

（1）硕士毕业证书及学位证书
中英文以外文本的证书需提供中文或英文翻译件的公证件原件，文件公证件需由中国驻外国使领馆或外国驻华使领馆提供。
应届毕业生由本人所在学校出具预计毕业证明原件，如录取，需在报到时携带毕业证书原件验证。
（2）硕士阶段全部课程成绩单原件或公证件及绩点。
（3）个人简历（自本科起时间连续的学习经历，有在华学习经历者需提供全部学习经历）。
（4）推荐信。曾就读过的学校两名副教授（或者相当职称）以上的推荐信，用中文或英文书写。
（5）护照个人信息页。
（6）语言水平证明复印件（仅限非英语国家）。
（7）HSK成绩报告（如有）。
（8）攻读博士学位研究生申请表（请按照附件1的模板填写）。
（9）证明学生学术水平的相关文件，如论文、专利等。
（10）外国人体格检查表: 在国内的申请人须前往国内三甲进行参考公务员标准的体检，不在国内的申请人须前往所在地规范的公立医院进行体检，检查结果有效期为6个月，最晚须在入学前提交。
（11）非应届毕业生须提交无犯罪记录证明，有效期为6个月。
（12）硕士学位论文（应届毕业生提供硕士学位论文开题报告、非应届生提供硕士学位论文摘要及结论）。
四、 Material submission
Applicants must submit all required materials by July 3, 2025.
l For applicants currently in China:
A printed copy of the application documents must be submitted to: Office 406, Building A, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Suzhou University of Science and Technology.
l For applicants currently outside China:
An electronic copy (scanned PDF) of the application documents must be sent via email to: [email protected].
Required Application Materials:
(1) Master’s Degree Certificate.
Certificates in languages other than Chinese or English must provide a notarized Chinese or English translation. The notarization must be issued by a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad, or by a foreign embassy or consulate in China.
For current graduates, an original graduation certificate expected by the school must be provided. If admitted, the original certificate must be brought for verification during the registration process.
(2) Original or notarized transcript and grade point average (GPA) of all courses taken during the Master’s program.
(3) Personal resume (with continuous learning experience since undergraduate studies, and those who have studied in China must provide all their learning experiences)
(4) Recommendation letters. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from former college by professors or associate professors;
(5) A scanned copy of passport;
(6) Photocopy of Language Certificate (students from non-English speaking countries only);
(7) HSK (the Chinese Proficiency Test) Certificate (if available);
(8) Application Form for Doctoral Program Admission (Please complete using the template provided in Attachment 1).
(9) Documents proving the student’s academic level, such as thesis, patents, etc.
(10) Foreigner Physical Examination Form:
Applicants currently in China must undergo a medical examination at a Grade III, Class A hospital (the highest-tier public hospital in China), following the civil servant health check standard.
Applicants outside China must complete the examination at a certified public hospital in their current location.
The medical report is valid for 6 months and must be submitted no later than enrollment date.
(11) Non-current graduates must submit a Certificate of No Criminal Record (valid for 6 months).
(12) Master’s Thesis Documentation:
Current graduates (pending degree conferral): Submit the Master’s thesis proposal.
Non-current graduates (degree holders): Provide the abstract and conclusion section of the Master’s thesis.
五、考核与录取

依据《2025年苏州科技大学国际博士研究生招生简章》文件，采用“申请-审核”制即申请材料审查加综合考核的方式选拔录取国际博士研究生。
（一）资格审查与材料评价（2025年7月4日—8日）

研究生招生工作领导小组组织专人对所有报考人员材料进行报考资格审核，不符合报考条件的考生不得进入下一环节。
申请人通过资格审核，进入材料评价环节，名单公示无异议后进入综合考核环节。

研究生招生工作领导小组组织以本学科博士生导师为主的不少于三人（含三人，且为单数）组成材料审核评价小组开展“申请-考核”制考生材料评价。择优拟定进入综合考核的初审名单，名单经学校审核通过后在365体育投注
网站上进行公示。
（二）综合考核（2025年7月11日）
根据学科特点和培养要求对申请者进行全面综合考核。综合考核采用面试的方式，具体如下：
面试主要重点考核申请人的综合素质（专业素养、学业水平、科研能力、创新潜质等）。每位考生不少于30分钟，给出面试成绩（满分100分），低于60分将不予录取。
1. 综合素质考核。
综合素质考核主要有以下内容：
①申请人PPT介绍个人学习与科研经历、已取得科研成果、博士阶段研究规划（10分钟左右）；
②申请人提交一份纸质版的博士阶段研究计划；
③考核小组专家提问：考察学生素质及品德、专业知识，学术视野、英语水平、交流表达能力等综合素养；
④面试考核小组专家各自打分，满分为100分。综合考核成绩及拟录取名单。
2. 综合考核成绩计算方式
综合考核成绩=面试成绩×100%
3.录取
学科按照综合成绩进行排名，择优录取。
五、Assessment and Admission
The School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Suzhou University of Science and Technology, in accordance with the 2025 International Doctoral Admission regulations of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, adopts the “Application-Review” system—a selection process combining document evaluation and comprehensive assessment—for admitting international PhD candidates.
(一) Eligibility Review and Document Evaluation (July 4–8, 2025)
The Graduate Admissions Working Group of the School will designate specialists to review all applicants’ materials for eligibility. Applicants who fail to meet the requirements will be disqualified from proceeding to the next stage. Those who pass the eligibility review will advance to the document evaluation phase. After the list of qualified candidates is publicly posted without objections, they will proceed to the comprehensive assessment phase.
The Graduate Admissions Working Group will form a Document Evaluation Panel consisting of at least three members (an odd number, including three), primarily composed of PhD supervisors from the discipline. This panel will evaluate applicants under the “Application-Assessment” system. Based on a competitive selection process, a preliminary list of candidates for the comprehensive assessment will be drafted. This list will be reviewed and approved by the university before being publicly posted on the school’s website.
(二) Comprehensive Assessment (July 11, 2025)
Applicants will undergo a comprehensive assessment based on discipline-specific requirements and training objectives. The assessment will be conducted via interview, as detailed below:
The interview will focus on evaluating the applicant’s comprehensive qualities, including: Professional competence, Academic competence, Research capabilities, Innovative potential. Each interview will last no less than 30 minutes, and a score (out of 100) will be given. Applicants scoring below 60 will not be admitted.
1. Comprehensive Quality Assessment
The assessment includes:
① PPT Presentation (10 min) – The applicant presents their learning and research experience, achievements, and doctoral research plan.
② Written Research Proposal – Printed copy of the doctoral research plan must be submitted.
③ Expert Q&A – Evaluates the applicants’: Moral character & personal integrity, Disciplinary knowledge & professional foundation, Research vision & scholarly perspective, English proficiency (verbal/written), Communication & presentation skills.
④ Scoring – The interview panel will assign individual scores (max 100). The final comprehensive assessment results and admission list will be determined accordingly.
2. Scoring Method
Final Assessment Score = Interview Score × 100%
3. Admission Decision
Admission will be based on ranking by comprehensive score, with the top candidates selected.
